For referrers

Refer a client to Coventry Rooms.

A straightforward referral process for housing professionals, support workers, and authorised agencies.

If you work with adults ready to move on from supported housing, we want to hear from you. Our referral process is simple, fully online, and designed to give you a clear answer quickly.

All referrals are assessed against our eligibility criteria and then passed to our RSL partner for a secondary qualification. We'll keep you updated at every stage.

Eligibility

Is your client suitable?

Before submitting a referral, please confirm your client:

  • Has completed a period of supported or emergency housing
  • Can manage day-to-day living independently or with light-touch support
  • Is ready for move-on accommodation
  • Has a confirmed income source (Universal Credit Housing Element, employment, or other)
  • Does not pose a known risk to other residents in a shared property
  • Has valid ID and a National Insurance number

If you're unsure whether your client meets these criteria, please contact us before submitting — we're happy to have an informal conversation.

Pricing

Please note: Weekly Service Charge

All CovRooms residents are subject to a weekly service charge of between £10 and £25, in addition to their weekly rent. This is an ineligible charge, meaning it is not covered by Universal Credit or Housing Benefit and must be paid by the resident directly. The exact amount is confirmed at the point of assessment based on individual circumstances. Please make applicants aware of this before submitting a referral.

What happens next

From submission to placement.

1

We review your referral

We aim to acknowledge all referrals within 2 working days. If we need further information, we'll contact you directly.

2

RSL assessment

Suitable referrals are passed to our RSL partner, who conducts their own assessment. Both approvals are required before a placement is confirmed.

3

Placement confirmed

Once approved by both parties, we contact you and the applicant to arrange move-in, the room, and the tenancy start date.

4

Ongoing contact

You remain the key contact for your client throughout their tenancy with us. We'll reach out if any issues arise that require your involvement.
